Arpil 2025

This release note includes:

  • Updates to the eProtein Discovery Software (5.1.0)
  • Updates to the eProtein Discovery Cloud Software
  • Bug fixes and improvements

eProtein Discovery™ Cloud Software

  • Experiment design improvement
Construct filtering is now available to simplify the selection of constructs during experiment design.

  • Purification candidate recommendation based on µM yield
A note reminder is added to the purification selection page to remind users to pick purification candidates based on micromolar (µM) expression yield. This approach allows for a more accurate comparison across constructs of varying molecular weights, ensuring the selection of candidates with the highest true yield.

  • Updated password policy
The minimum password length has been updated to 12 characters to comply with Cyber Essentials security requirements.

  • Support for confidential sequence design
Users can now create new protein entries without the need to input DNA or protein sequences. This feature is designed for experiments involving confidential sequences, where sequence information cannot be entered into the software. During the DNA design step, simply select the “Confidential Sequence” option and provide the molecular weight of the protein and DNA sequence length. Supplying the molecular weight in these cases is essential, as it is used in yield calculations.

  • Single Sign-On support
Single Sign-On (SSO) is now enabled for users who opt to log in using the company’s multi-factor authentication or centralized authentication system.

  • AlphaFold 3D-structure prediction
The AlphaFold 3D structure prediction feature is now available on the DNA Design page. All eProtein Discovery tenants are granted 100 free predictions, valid for six months or until the limit is reached. AlphaFold predictions are integrated with protein feature annotations and linked to sequences, enabling streamlined protein variant design guided by the predicted 3D structure. Refer to the AlphaFold brochure for more information.

eProtein Discovery™ Instrument software release 5.1.0

User interface updates:

  • Users can now configure network IP and proxy settings directly from the Settings screen. This feature allows for the selection of a static IP address to connect the system to the network, if preferred

Bug fixes:

  • Molecular weight calculations for proteins cleaved with 3C protease are now correct with better accuracy
  • Resolved occasional cartridge registration failures
  • Fixed intermittent syringe pump failure incidents
  • Addressed occasional instrument initialization failures
  • Resolved issue of missing results when negative controls are not detected
  • Experiments that fail before base fluid is loaded can now be retried
